How do you decide a tool's verdict?

Every review here comes from real hands-on use, usually months of it, not a spec sheet. We weigh what the tool does well against its real cost and its honest alternatives, then give a clear who-should-buy and who-should-skip. We would rather lose a sale than recommend the wrong tool.

Are these reviews independent?
